The criteria used are both of qualitative and quantitative nature. WebProminent periportal echogenicity was detected during sonographic examination of patients suffering from recurrent pyogenic cholangitis, hepatocellular carcinoma and acute cholecystitis. To document the finding, 140 normal individuals were studied to establish a norm for the evaluation of the periportal echogenicity.
