Overseen by our first Chancellor, Alexander Winchell, the $136,000 building is mainly composed of Onondaga limestone. Initially, six other college buildings were to be built in the same Second Empire style, WebCunz Hall was named “The Dieter Cunz Hall of Languages” on April 10, 1969, to honor the former head of the German Department. Various language departments occupied the building until they were moved to Hagerty Hall in 2004.
