An optional effect would, if the discard was not the last thing to occur, miss the timing. Dark World Dealings works with both. Discarding for the hand size limit would not work for Sillva, Warlord of Dark World, because it isn't a card effect. WebJul 31, 2024 · Dark World cards state that they have to be discarded by an effect. Discard 1 card, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy it. Discard 1 card is the cost, this is shown by the ; in the text. Anything to the left of that is deemed as the cost. So if the discard is on the right of ; then its an effect. WebJun 2, 2024 · They need to be discarded by a card effect, not by a cost, so stuff like Raigeki Break and Dark Core don't activate the Dark World effects because they discard as cost, not effect.
