It's water ingress from somewhere (not electrolytic corrosion from steel to alloy) and then it carries just like on alloy wheels (best seen on diamond cut and lacquered like the LMGT4's). WebFeb 23, 2007 · I take a dremmel and a small sanding drum and remove any surface rust. Then i apply a coat of touch up paint i purchased at Subaru. I repeat the same thing in the Fall and go and get the car blasted with rust proofing. I do believe the rear trunk on an SF model is steel. I also had small rust bubbles around the rear door handle.

WebDec 18, 2024 · The non-OEM panels are rusting at the edge of the hood (LOTS of bubbling), and the 1/4 panel has two large bubbles where it meets the bumper. It looks awful right now.
